Zoo Camp

Zoo camps are great! They provide campers with lots of opportunities to see and learn about a wide variety of animals.  Cub Creek Science Camp goes one step further than your typical zoo camp.  We let camper not only see and learn about our animals, but also interact with, feed and care for the animals.  Camper become the zoo keepers.

  • Campers involved in our Adopt an Animal program choose their favorite animal and take on the responsibility for its care and enrichment for the week.

  • Our "Animal Specialist for the Hour" class allows campers the chance to go "behind the scene" and care for a wide variety of camp animals.

  • Animals 101 is a week long camp activity that gives campers a chance to see, touch, feed and interact with almost every animal at camp.  Unlike the Adopt an Animal program where a camper focuses on one animal, Animal 101 gives campers a general overview of all animals.

  • Animal Safari is the course at camp for those campers wanting to learn what it might be like to be a wildlife biologist.  In this course camper explore the various parts of the camp for our local wildlife and take part in a variety population studies.  Including learning how to trap, mark and release animals without harming them.
