Banded California Kingsnake

California king snakes are a highly variable species that make hardy, long lived pets. In the wild, they inhabit a variety of habitats ranging from coastal scrub lands to the high deserts. These snakes spend most of their days hiding in refuse piles or in abandoned rodent burrows, emerging at dusk to hunt.  (This information was taken from lllreptile.com/)

We have two Banded California Kingsnakes at Science Camp, Walter and Wendy.  Both are housed in the Reptile Room.  Below is a picture of Wendy several years ago.

A Kingsnake Information Page will be coming soon!
